Clean, Corosion Free
Smooth Advance Operation
Side Play
End Play

Most parts are same as chevy points distributor.
Point Plates are completely different between the two.
I have not actullay bought chevy main shaft bushings
and installed them in an AMC Distributor Housing casting
so am unable to say for sure if they fit.
Endplay shims for chev fit, like Moroso # 26140, MrG # 2820.
AMC's lack the chev style Tanged Washer at the gear end,
at least none on the (30) or so that I have seen.
From that as far as a Re-Build Kit, would reckon
whatever kit one could get for a chev points distributor.

I been looking at this There some good info and is a good article. You need to copy and paste to go to web site to look at. It also has applications of GM vacuum advance canisters to help order one to fit your amc and has specs for them.

http://www.superchevy.com/how-to/additional-tech/1601-everything-you-wanted-to-know-about-vacuum-advance-and-ignition-timing/

above is some more good info

Yeah. Lotta nay-sayers. But hey, researched, read-up, and tried various combinations on my own AMX at the time. And the "Lower" Total Mechanical Advance with more Initial Advance, and the B28 Vacuum Advance canister performed the "best" imho. "Best" Idle and Holley Carb Throttle Plate Idle Park postions (most closed), "best" Idle Vacuum Level, "best" throttle response, "best" 1/4 Mile times & Speeds.   And I "executed" the same "philosophy" on a couple few other AMC's, a couple Mopars, a couple few Pontiacs and Chevy's, and none of the "customers" wanted it changed back to how it was before the "adjustments". To each his own. Take it for what it's worth, or what it cost ya anyways......
