Anyone else had problems with oil blowing out of the top of the dipstick? Was there some kind of gasket on the stick to seal it? What should I try as a fix?

Yes, it's a felt washer thingy but I've never noticed mine having any oil on them. Check your PCV valve to make sure it isn't stuck shut. If it's not, your rings are probably either sticking (especially if the car's been sitting a while) or they're worn and you need to rebuild the engine. A leak down test will confirm internal engine problems.

Glad it was just the valve. Did you service the filter while you were at it? The filter needs to be removed from the breather hose and washed out with some sort of parts cleaner. The TSM says to use kerosene to clean it.

I did clean that a cpl months ago when I rebuilt the carb. After about 150 miles it is still trickling, nothing like before, now from the tube to block connection, is it worth the hassel to seal it up, or just deal with it? |
