Photo #1.  Also, there are great articles on the Forum on how to install the tube.  You need to have the bracket in place before you wedge the tube into place, or you run the risk of not having it line up.

Easiest way is to put the valve cover on, you don't need to seal it up, just bolt it down.  The slip the bracket over the dipstick tube and bolt it down.  Then seat the dipstick tube.

Ross Peterson manufactured the best dipstick installation tool ever.  He may have some still.
He's on the Forum and is an outstanding guy.

When you install the tube make sure the dipstick goes in the cutout in the pan baffle properly. If it's not lined up it will hit the baffle and not go in all the way.

I always install the dipstick tube with the dipstick installed.  That way you know the dipstick is through the hole in the pan baffle.
