Talking to my buddy tonight about my 4 speed project Spirit street/strip car and he asked me if it had a clutch interupt switch, that is if you didnt push down on the clutch the car will not start. i own a Scrambler for 33 years and I have a 70 AMX original untouched and the both didnt have one. I looked at all my Spirit literature and there is no indication of on either. Did AMC ever install this on any of thier cars even up till the end? I am curious my 69 Camaro had one as well as most Mopars. Please chime in. Thanx, Scramboy.Confused

My 72 and 74 Gremlins don't. I would not think the 79-83 spirits would have it. I had an 80 Omega, and an 80 chevy K20, they did have it.

I think that they did not come into use until MOPAR took control of the Jeeps.
Our 97 XJ has one.

I think that AMC considered us smart enough to know to push the pedal when starting the car!
