I just had to order an ACDELCO 24039L for a 1990 Jeep Grand Wagoneer. Mainly because the hose I ordered last year is all wonky. It states it fits 71 to 74 AMC Javelin v8, but it does not not matter how much it cut off. I know many hoses now require cut to fit, but this is impossible. Anyone familiar with the DAYCO 70742 hose?

71 Javelin SST body
390 69 crank, 70 block & heads
NASCAR SB2 rods & pistons
78 Jeep TH400 w/ 2.76 Low
50/50 Ford-AMC Suspension
79 F150 rear & 8.8 axles
Ford Racing 3.25 gears & 9" /w Detroit locker

I just put one on my 1973 Ambassador and it fit perfectly. No cutting. However, I did have to cut the 70743 for the bottom.

Thanks for posting a reply... for some reason, the one i got did not match the old gates version I had (which is for 71 to 74 Javelin, now having a different part number). Either it was a miss label or something. Though, even reverse installing did not help.

Anyway... problem is solved... both old 71 on up and late 80s early 90s Wagoneer hoses work just fine... the wagoneer hose needed about 1.5" off while the old Gates needed to be cut at the marked B section.
