I've looked at the Crower catalog...the 45239 sounds like a good one for a 290/304.  I'm thinking the 45240 would be a starting point for a 343/360.

But I'm all about street performance in the 1200-4500 RPM range.

Decide what your gearing will be, and what your primary operating rpms are going to be before trying to select a cam.

Looks like a nice "stock" replacement cam.

Great for an Ambassador wagon or a tow truck.

If it's the 204/214 , that is the Edelbrock Performer cam equivalent. The stock specs were 196 duration at .050 and .425 lift unless it was a later 1970 model 390 or any 401, which was 207/.457 lift.

Those specs are the same as the EPW cam I picked up and used for our orange Hornet. I think Elgin grinds them for the aftermarket. Same as the Performer specs. It's a great cam for a street car as it's very mild and builds a ton of low end. Personally, I like the 30 degree intake seat angle with a cam that small for low lift flow.   It only sees over .400 for a short period of time.   With bowl work, it runs surprisingly well in a stock bottom end low compression 360. I've gone 13.40s @ 101 with ours with a 3.54 gear.

I have a Elgin cam 478/478, summit 472/496, and a General Kinetics cam 496/521, I used the General Kinetics in my 390 for the horse power, the Elgin would have had lot of low end torque, summit is like in between. You need to select the set up best for what you want to use the car for, like street, race or just to up the engine for a restoration.

By calling it a nice "stock" replacement cam I did not mean it is stock.
But i bet it would work great as a one for one replacement from stock.
