Stock crank? Nope. That’s a find.

Bought it by accident lol
The crate is at John Rossello (jcisworthy) shop RBJ Racing as we speak he is gonna take a look at the parts tomorrow.
It would be fun if anyone has any info on this stuff.
Could this be some race stuff since the 70´s 80´s or maybe just some one off custom parts made by Crower long time ago who knows

I think its a stock stroke crank since numbers 3680 is stamped on one of the counter weights but John can verify when he is done inspecting the crank.

I´ll keep you guys posted, John is also more than welcome to share any info on these parts if he wants to.

We'll the crank is standard stroke 401 (3.68") and late model flange, its not a standard 401 crank though the counterweights look alot different also the area around the rod journals looks different from the regular 401 cranks. The rods are standard length 401 also but, they are aftermarket rods and look completly different from the stock rods, they have 1.000" standard pin size but are bushed for floating pin

Anyone know if this was a kit Crower offered at some point or just a one off pieces Crower made for someone long time ago ?

Have not asked John about routing of the oil passeges in the crank.

Just curious if there's been an update on this, or what Lenni & John have planned for it.

I love cool stuff like this Clap

No plans yet Jim

After looking at what I received, there was a failure at some point and after getting new parts it never went back together.

There are two new pistons and the rest are used.

I do not remember the ebay add showing anything other than new piston pictures and without going back to the listing, I thought it was all new never used.

Everything it in great shape but not all new never used as I though it was represented.

All in all it is still a good deal and the rods have a 1" pin bushing so a Wiseco protru is an easy swap for less compression

I'm still trying to decide if I should have the crank offset ground to 3.8" stroke or not
Would be fun to know what material this crank was made from.

Thanks for the update John and Lenni!

I'm glad it's in good hands
& am looking forward to a future build someday.

My suggestion?
Turbo build. Smile

Keep the Crower Rods that came with it,
find a virgin 4.165" 401 block,
and build the highest HP stock bore and stroke 401 on the planet.

Stroking it isn't a bad idea either,
but this Crower Crank has to be good for more than whatever a Stock 401 can handle,
might as well use it for bragging rights.
