Any problem using a SCE 4.195 bore copper head gasket on a 4.205 401 engine?

I see a problem of the pistons hitting the gasket if it is smaller then the bore.

SCE can make gasket in whatever bore you need.

Piston/rod heat expansion, rock and piston design have to be considered on a zero deck. If this is actually the case with this build I would agree with a gasket to fit the bore dimensions . If there is 0.010" deck clearance or more then it "should" not be a problem.

IMO any gasket, copper or composite
overhanging the cylinder is begging for hot spots and have the engine run like it has glow plugs. Copper would be safer than others. |

I concur with Boris.
Unless the gasket is flush with the cylinder wall or slightly retracted, hot spots could occur and ignition knock will be the result as well as engine damage. Copper does dissipate heat very well, but why take a chance when the correct bore gasket is easily available. |

That is a good general rule. But it's only .005 thou overhang. If it got really hot the plug straps would glow before that anyway Mic your fingernail it's .005 Just sayin
