IIRC the ID of the two styles are different depending on year. One way it wouldn't fit and the other way it'd be like a baseball bat in a garbage can. I'm buffaloed especially if the OP made NO changes other than the engine as he has stated.

the stepped sleeve is a press-fit into the bearing. i remember in the far flung past i'd buy them as shown in the pics, but in recent memory i've got only the bearing, and have to tap the sleeve out and press it into the bearing.
of course if you don't have the right part to begin with that's no help. but you can get a junk/used assembly and press a new bearing on it. |

Well it looks like its a combo between the ball stud height and the clutch fork being the correct one. Since I have a spare bell housing and really want to drive this car for the first time asap, Im going to make the fork hole bigger so it has room to move. Ideal? No but good enough for now. Thanks for the help

Good topic.my Rebel Machine clutch was toasted. probably for wrong parts,fork was very loose to the bearing and was damaged. fixed the fork and now i´m waiting new clutch from jegs. www.jegs.com/i/RAM-Clutches/798/88499HDX/10002/-1 what do you thing about the pivot?i think somebody messed that also,any pictures how it should be?thanks. Beluski, looks like someone made an adjustable pivot. I've seen this arrangement on a few AMX's only the ball was welded to the post.
