Did anybody make it to the big Chrysler Car Show in Carlisle PA this past weekend?
I saw a few pretty nice looking AMCs while there. |

No I didn't bring my camera, and I never use my cell phone camera.
But at least my car won 3rd. place in its class. |

I was in attendence as a vendor. I pulled the Javelin out of the garage to bring up to Carlisle & the left strut rod busing cut loose and ended up on the floor. So, for the first time since I have owned the car, the Javelin did not make to Chrysler Nationals.

I can't say for sure, because I never did find where they were all parked together.
I saw a couple pulling into the fair grounds, and a few more scattered around the place. I never take my 69 AMX to a Mopar meet anymore, because the few times that I did, it generally got ignored. But that was a very long time ago. Things may have changed over the years. I remember reading where the guys in Vegas were well received at their Mopar events. But I usually drive down to the Mopar Nationals in Columbus Ohio every year, and there still seems to be very little interest shown towards anything AMC. I don't take it personal, after all, we were pretty much "forced" upon them. What's funny to me though, is the Mopar fans that attend the show vote for their favorite cars, and my Crossfire has come in 3rd. all three times that I've entered it since I installed a 70 AMX hood on it and "rebadged" it as an AMX. And this year, the members of the Crossfire Club (I belong to) gave me a 3rd. place award as well. It only took them 4 years to get use to it. Edited by 0069X - Jul/12/2011 at 9:29am |
