Are the Main Well Bleeds on the AFB primary venturi clusters removable? These are the small air tubes that extend through the top cover. These tend to clog up from time to time causing a rich idle. If these were removed they wouldnt clog, but air could enter from below the cover since the tubes would no longer be there draweing air from outside, what would the effects of this be if any, it would get a lot more air for one, maybe lean it out too much could this be compensated with the mixture screws? just curious.

Just to clarify. For those not familiar with the carters and are more experienced with holleys the main well bleeds on the AFB's are the equivalent of the idle air orifices on the holleys adjacent to the venturies. Some holleys now come with replaceable orifices so you can super tune the mixture. The carter main well bleeds are a tube on top of the venturie cluster, how would removing the tube affect mixture, essentially making the bleed hole bigger, does this aaffect mixture accross the range because it is emmusifying the fuel?
