Depends on what kind of choke you want, if any. Holley makes a few good basic 2-barrels.

You've got a lot of good choices. A Weber 38/38 would be great for a stock 360. It does need to be tuned right for the engine. There are good guides for that and tuning kits from Weber suppliers. A Motorcraft 2100 was used on most of them, and is probably what you have now. A good remanufatured carb would be the easiest route. A Holley 350 or even 500 2V carb would work.  Finally, if you want to change the intake use a smallish 4V. Not one of the more common 600 cfm models, but a 400-500 cfm since it's stock. You really need a better cam for a 600, though a 600 can be tuned to run well.  An Offenhauser Dual Port intake and a Holley 470 Truck Avenger would be a great combo -- provide some additional power and still get good gas mileage on a stock 360, wouldn't be too small for a bit better cam later. An Edelbrock AVS2 500 would be a good choice also. Smaller 4V carbs provide better low and mid range power, most used in truck and street engines. The big ones are best for higher speed power, like drag or street/strip cars.

1984 used the Motorcraft 2150 which is just about the best two barrel carburetor ever made. They gradually transitioned from the 2100 to the 2150 in the late 1970's. Improvements were the new 2150 was larger at 351 CFM instead of 287 CFM, had a more advanced two-stage power enrichment valve, and had an automatic altitude compensator that would adjust the fuel mixture automatically in response to altitude so the engine (more or less) did not need to be retuned for changes in altitude.

360's like a little more than 351 CFM to make their maximum capable horsepower at higher RPM (4000+), but below that RPM 351 CFM doesn't hold you back. Much more than 351 CFM in a two barrel may cause unstable fuel mixtures at lower RPM, so it is a compromise. Any non-staged carburetor is.

I'd stick to the 2150 if I were you. If you're going to have a two barrel, that is the one to have.

Holley does a bolt on Sniper injection system that is a direct replacement for the factory Carter carb if you want to step it up a bit.
I've finally given up drinking for good...........now I only drink for evil.

The 2100/2150 carbs are also super easy to rebuild.

This is probably one of the best deals you can get on a 2150:

Did you buy one? Thinking about replacing the BBD on my Cherokee. I have. a 258. Just wondering about the overall quality of the package. The EBay reviews were all pretty good.
