This should not be brain surgery. No one seems to know what's missing in these pics to make my signals cancel on a turn. Is it something in the column or am I missing a pin(s) on the back of the wheel?

So I don't have the TSM and am just looking at the mechanical parts of your pictures. So this may be totally incorrect!
The spring in the top picture has to attach to something or it will not function. The signal return should not have sharp "cam" releases. So I'm thinking in the upper picture the "return" is on backwards. The rounded ends should be towards the steering shaft and the spring should be attached to the pin or in this case the tang on the bottom right. The steering wheel has a gap on the outer collar. This looks like the return cam. I would just try flipping the upper "return" and attaching the spring to the tang, re-assemble and see if it works. Should not hurt anything by trying this. If the steering wheel does not slide on doing this then stop and maybe someone with experience on these can help. Good luck.

Thanks for the idea, Trader! I have both the 1958 service manual and the '59 update to the TSM and neither addresses turn signal issues. I replaced the switch with a NOS one from a vendor, replacing the old one with a (perfect fit) new one, having to re-use the old spring and clipbut putting them in exactly as they were.
The vendor is stumped.

I am just starting my restoration and am having a similar issue. I am looking forward to seeing what the fix will be.
