Hi, just wondering if anyone has used an Elgin camshaft E-1224-P?
Looks very similar to a summit 8600. Haven't heard anything about this Elgin cam so if anyone has used it or has knowledge of it would be interested to hear about it.
Thanks

Close but not quite, I ran an Elgin E-910-P instead of an Elgin E-1224-P, but both they say are Range C...
Link to a YouTube Burnout video with the E-910-P Elgin cam is in the sig...
I was impressed and happy with the Elgin ProStock Parts & pieces I got...
the parts just looked like better pieces than others, if only the surface treatment or finish...
not 'bare' mirror finish high gloss cam lobes, but 'nitrided' looking or something on the lobe surfaces...

They were SI Valves, 2.02 & 1.68, it's been many years, others may have posted the 1.68 is no longer available.
Correction made in above post, 2-1/2" Full Exhaust, not 2"

Elgin is the supplier for most if not all of the house brand cams.
They've been around for ages.

Yep, the Elgin E1224-P and Summit K8600 are the same cam. I don't see that one as being optimal for your 9.25:1 360 build though -

1) The 112 degree LCA and slow opening lobes make for a really early exhaust valve opening which hurts low speed torque and efficiency,

2) If you're running 9.25:1 or so compression you'll leave a bit of DCR on the table with the Elgin,

3) You can get 6% more intake area under the curve with the Comp 270, and with less overlap.

If you like Elgin cams, it looks like the E-1041-P would be a little better fit for your build and targets from what I understand of them.

Great to here from you. I tried to look up the E-1041-P specs and couldn't find them for amc. You sound very knowledgeable so please don't mind me asking, for the summit cam and the elgin E-1224-P cam, what set up would they be best suited to? I am very interested. Thanks
