Does anyone know if the newer style "flex" front bands for the Ford AMX will work in the M-11 or M-12 ? The front band wear is the weak point primarily due to the AMC operating pressure spec being too low for a firm shift which allows a lot of slipping and band wear. Once you sort out the operational issues raise the trans pressure until your 1-2 shift firms up. The 2-3 will firm up too but it's the 1-2 that puts the stress on the front band. Raising the pressure also raises the shift points which is also desireable. Higher pressure means less slippage.
Long time AMC fan. Ambassador 343, AMX 390, Hornet 360, Spirit 304 and Javelin 390. All but javelin bought new.

As mentioned there is Galvin's for kits. I have also used Fatsco and Northwest Transmission.
