Yes they are calibrated when assembled. Then glued to keep in place. You can break the glue seal by forcing the adjuster. Basically it only aligns the needle to be somewhat centered for the gauge's face high and low range, not to the input from the sender. |

Those teeth are for the adjustment, one for low and one for high. Its best to use a ohm meter and TSM for ohm readings.
