I have a 66 AMC Ambassador 990 automatic with 327 engine.
All my lights work except for brake lights. I replaced the switch on brake pedal, but brake lights still don't work. Any suggestions on how to find the problem and then fix? thanks

Do the directional signals work?  The brake lights are wired through the directional signal switch in the column.  If the rear directional signals work, then the wiring to the bulbs is intact.  It could still be the brake switch, or the wire is broken somewhere between the brake switch and directional switch.

Mine did not work recently. I needed to replace the fuse. I also replaced my brake switch, they're cheap.

Probably. I know in 1967 there's a STOP fuse, 9A that provides direct power to one side of the stop light switch. Red wire w/ tracer 12 volts input to switch. Green is the output side.

See if your rear turn signals work. If they do, the problem isn't the turn signal switch. If they don't, it could be the turn signal switch in the column. The brakes and turn signals use the same wiring. Turn signals and brake lights use the same fuse. There should be a fuse labeled "STOP TURN" on the fuse panel. It's hard to get to under the driver's side of the dash, but you can twist around in the floor and see it with a flashlight...

Pull the wire connector off the brake light switch.

Either jumper across the wires in the connector or test it with a VOM. Volt Ohm Amperage Meter). If there  is voltage across this and the brake lights go on, your switch is still bad.

Check for open switch/closed switch on the brake light switch by connecting the VOM (use the resistance meter [ohms], in the lowest range) across the wire connector pins. When the switch is open the resistance should verify there is no continuity. With the switch closed, the resistance should verify continuity by showing a very low resistance reading on the meter.

Check that the pins are actually there in both the connector and switch. Check that each pin contacts its associated connector.
