What should this cost??? I'm about to send this thing to a local body shop to get fixed. What do you think is fair to prep the fender, mount it, affix all the fancy Rogue trim and paint it gold???

I've been in the body shop biz for 25 years and I would have my tech (with 45 years experience) repair that fender. Keep the color in the center of the fender and not have to blend the color into the door is A LOT cheaper. We'd do it for $750-850. I wish you were closer.  The hardest part would be matching the paint-but it can be done.

Also before it goes into the shop, remove the front bumper and take all the trim off the fender yourself, or get some help. Parts do get lost or damaged in some shops-why take that chance.

I cant give you an estimate but I agree with 70Donohue 390 looks like way less work to fix the fender than to replace it.

Better off fixing what you have so you won't have to blend the door, hood and cowl.

I'd work with the original fender also. With the difference in the emblems and molding there will be holes to fill and relocate to the new one. The shop may or may not weld up the unused emblem holes.

If it were me doing this in my garage, I would replace the fender because my time is free and my body working skills are lacking. However, shop time is expensive so go with what takes less time. That dent looks to me like a pretty simple job for a competent body shop. Ask your shop which is the better way to go.

I never like to make estimates from pictures,  let alone just one picture,  because it's hard to judge a dent from just one perspective.

But from what I can see I agree with the other body people,  i'd fix the fender.  I think that's about a 4-5 hour dent,  that's to primer.  Then another hour to prep the rest of the fender. Keeping all the blend within the fender.  Maybe 7-8 hours total time. That's times whatever the labor rate is in you're area.

If you replaced that fender,  if the fender is perfect and only requires drilling holes,  NOT filling holes. 2.5-3 hours to remove and replace fender,  2 hours to prep fender, about another 8 hours to prep the hood, door, cowl, rocker, and  front panel for blend.  If it was me ,  on the door, i'd take out everything, door handle, vent window, wiskers, etc.  so no tape edges.
The reason everybody is saying to blend around the fender, if you install it,  is that no one is going to be able to exactly match that paint.  Gold is a pain to match even on new cars, let alone when it has aged 40 years.

I heard a lot of tales about old school painters being able to exactly match paint,  but being old school myself,  40 years next year,  i've only heard about it .  I've never seen it.

UUUUggh. My body shop pal told me it would be too much work to fix the fender. I'm gonna dig up more pix so you can see.
