Does anybody have an idea what the biggest rear wheel and tire combo will fit a 1969 Ambassador? I like the set up Mike Korecz has on his 69 in a 2007 issue of Popular Hotrodding. There seems to plenty of space to run a 15x8 rim with 275/60/15's but as we all know it can get tricky when you want to keep the stock suspension. MK's 69 has the look I need, I just can not tell from the pictures if his tires are 255,265 or 275. PH usually has the spec sheet but they did not cover wheel/tire combo in this article. Any help would be awesome.

Here is a link to the online version of the 2007 article you were talking about:  http://www.popularhotrodding.com/features/0710phr_1969_amc_ambassador/printer_friendly.#ixzz39IcJUEPG - http://www.popularhotrodding.com/features/0710phr_1969_amc_ambassador/printer_friendly.html#ixzz39IcJUEPG

The Spec sheet is included in this online version of the article and it shows that car has BFGoodrich 275/60R15 Drag Radials on 15x10 rims on the back.  I hope that helps.

I installed the 15X8 wheel/ 275/60/15 combo on the rear. With a stock suspension the 15X8 with a 275/60/15 tire work very nice. It fills the wheel well and the tire has a nice bulge coming off the side of the 15X8 rim and no rubbing of any type. Thanks AlaskaHickey for the perspective, I dig the way the car sits and looks from all angles now.
