usually inside circlips. master cyls are engineered within a dime of nothing. it's not much to look at inside.

that said, i'm a big fan or irrationally taking everything apart and sometimes putting it together again.  go for it. depending on how it's put together (RTFM, which today means "google") you might need circlip pliers.

this is where you gotta decide where to spend your effort and money.
