We have had a Skat Blast cabinet in the shop for several years now. I like working with it and I feel it is easy to maintain.

Skat cabinets are a purchase for life, just as Ross stated. I personally don't like the front opening units. Sometimes in rush you'll forget to let the dust to settle and opening the front loaders puts it all in your face. The front loaders are great when you placing heavy items into the cabinet and save space.

Skatblast here, too. I have run 3 cars in pieces through it over 15 years and still going strong. Any part, no matter how seemingly insignificant, is readily available.

Well, I didn't expect such unanimous agreement on Skat. I have an old Eelco that Columbus must have used and is just too small for anything bigger than a cylinder head. At the power plants I've worked at the one I probably liked the best was like this one, the easiest loading I've ever seen.
Fortunately this is a purchase for later this year, we'll see how the year goes. Thanks everybody. http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Cyclone-FT6035-Abrasive-Sand-Blaster-Blast-Cabinet-Glass-Bead-Media-USA-MADE/201534418266?_trksid=p2047675.c100623.m-1&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20160323102634%26meid%3D01876f7638764eedbe138f35da6f765e%26pid%3D100623%26rk%3D4%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D201534418603 Edited by 6PakBee - Jan/29/2017 at 4:10pm |

Here in our workshop in Adelaide, South Australia, we have an Empire cabinet, made in PA. It gets used every day work various jobs with glass beads, and on the side I did an entire Gremlin (the parts that would fit anyway) and still going strong. I replace the glass tearoff lense about once a week. We wore out the mesh floor in one spot - just very slowly abraded a big hole through it. But the rest of the cabinet is fine.
