i don't often post about a single $4 part but this is an exception...

10mm banjo (caliper) to 3/8-24 NF inverted flare female (all AMC!)

i can use nearly all stock lines and fittings on my chassis and attach directly to the calipers with this inexpensive part.

for example:

i'm putting Mustang rear disc brakes in the rear of my American, and a Scarebird kit (Chevy Celebrity calipers) up front. those modern parts are all metric, and use 10mm banjo bolts.

** the Mustang rear hoses have an inconvenient metal line attached, and are metric on the other end.

** the Scarebird-recommended hoses, also 10mm banjo bolts, have an inconvenient bubble flare at the other end.

these banjo unions put the correct female brake flare connection right where you need it.

Finally, a cost effective source for the copper sealing washers.  Everything else I've seen is too thin and leaks.  Thanks for posting.

they arrived today. stupid simple, work great. here's a Chevy Celebrity front caliper, the current spec for the Scarebird setup, with an OEM type AMC/Rambler hose on it.

Tom,
I hope you got the HD caliper from the Celebrity.
Thanks for the adapter info.  When we did our Scarebird conversion we just searched for a hose with the banjo end that was the right length.

well, i got the one, again, recommended by Scarebird but the inboard end is bubble flare female, and i of course have typical old inverted flare.

but also i have that '98 Mustang rear, same banjo bolt issue, and with these things i can just keep everything inverted flare, as it already is.

I wonder why nobody mentioned this issue with the scarebird before?

Tom,
The Celebrity HD caliper has a depression on the outside where the retaining clip of the pad fits.
The std caliper is built differently.  The tend to look the same from the piston side.
