I am looking for some assembly diagrams for 68-70 AMX. I have a 69 I'm in the process of restoring. Currently trying to reassemble front end brakes spindles and such.
Thanks Clap

Look for a Technical Service Manual (TSM) at any of the AMC vendors. It will be the best $50 that you spend on the car. It is several hundred pages of factory instructions for the specific model year.
1970 AMX, one step forward, one step back. Both steps cost time and money.

If you don't have a 69 TSM, just PM me, I have a great used original with the heavy pages.....and a new factory issue reproduction too.

Here's a 69 TSM  on Ebay now.

$50 plus shipping

It's also available at the AMC vendors, American Parts Depot, AMC Lives, probably kennedy American and probably several others.

Don't waste your money on a Chilton's, Get a factory TSM.

Get the parts book also.

Just a comment, if you are looking for an assembly line instruction manual such as what Chrysler, GM, and Ford used, I've never seen such an animal for AMC.

Agreed, no assembly line instruction manuals that I've seen either.

There are exploded views of many if not all assemblies in the AMC Factory parts books.

The books are available on CD from a few places as well.

In the last couple weeks I've put up all AMC parts books from 1960 through 1978 on my website, browsable. Just today I added a new feature; you initially see low-resolution images that are faster to browse throught, then click on the page for high-res. (click again to back to low-res).

Check out the Illustrations. YOu have to get used to AMCs "Group" thing but it's well thought out.

Other AMCers did the scanning of old paper, I just split them up and made web pages from them. The scanning of 5000, 6000 physical pages is a lot of work!

FWIW, there were two? copies of a large format assembly manual for the AMX (and Javelin?). AMC did produce a manual for the factory production assembly process, it just wasn't reproduced.

Most of the factory service manuals have been reproduced and are available form the major AMC parts vendors, so take your pick. Tom j has recently put the majority of the AMC parts books on line for every one to use. The parts books illustrations are kind of so-so as there was a tendency to just keep reusing the old diagrams too many times. If what your looking for is some thing along the lines of the Corvette restorers factory assembly manual then your out of luck. I've only seen any thing like that for the AMC Eagles in the last days in the 1980s when the cars started to get complex. But for the most part all the AMCs are fairly simple and this forum is for answering those question when you need an answer. Some one here will have one. Oh, there is a general book by Scott Campbell from SA Design on "How to restore your Javelin or AMX " that is available and be helpful but it not an all out assembly manual.  LRDaum
