So my oil seeping/leaking issues are fixed, I swtiched to 20W/50 and replaced the copper washer on the drain plug that I kept re-using causing oil to drip...DUH!!

So I have next week off and plan on taking a road trip to New England Dragway.  Car is TIGHT! Rock steady at 100MPH on the highway.  So here is the combo..what do you think she'll do in the 1/4 mile?

343 .030+
Reed 272 duration cam
Roller Rockers(full)
Hooker 1 5/8" headers to full 2.5" mandrel bent pipes to the bumper-Straight through mufflers.
Full MSD ignition-one step colder that stock plugs Blue 21 degree stop bushing with 10 deg intial 31 total.
Recalibrated factory AFB
Edelbrock R4B intake with Blocked heat riser group 19 gasket.
Dual Electric fans
Rebuilt heads with new valves.

Rebuilt M12 with 2500 stall 11" converter. Big cooler between the radiator and grill.

2.87/3.15 rear with 26" rear tires.  2500 RPM @ 60 MPH cruising

I am going to say mid 14's???

How are you getting only 2500 RPM when I've got 3.15's and 26" tires and turn 3,000?

I must have 2.87's then, people that have been in the car think it may have 3.15's

Yup one legger and that is going to be a problem, even if I feather it off the line in 1st it'll spin the tiire when I nail it, and it has 275/50/15's, but it likes to spin especially inflated at 35 PSI for street driving.  Maybe dropping the pressure down will help, but I can literally spin throuhg 1st and second from rest and it just revs really fast.
I'll take the middle ground here and say a 14.8.  Last car I used to drag race regularly ran 15.6's (a 2.3 turbo ford) and the AMX would leave that car in the dust, but who knows only way to know is to run it.

I say 15.xx too
Is 35 max psi for the tire or does that what the car handles good with? Yes lower the psi and an extra psi or 2 on the tire that spins the most. Did this on my 2.87 geared open rear Gremlin and it helped some till I installed a Lock Right Locker.
BTW my stock 304 75 Gremlin would run 16.0 - 16.20 and in the 80mph range, 2nd or 3rd gear because of the 2.87 gear.
Have fun and let us know what it does. Wonder if you will run into any other AMC'ers?

All you can do now is take it out and see how closely aligned the butt dyno is calibrated to the integral ego. That's done automatically as you read the first time slip.

LOL your right PMM, first time I took my 2.3 to the track I thought  it would run 13's...it ran 17's.  Tweaking got it down to 15's.  It would suprise me though if it were not high 14's or better.  Wouldnt the 11" converter compensate a bit for the gear?

It may a little but it can also not let the converter work the way it should. The pakage has to work together.
My 360 drag car runs a 4000 stall and 4.56 locker rear with a 9x28" slicks. My 60' avg. is 1.86 for 40 runs. You would think with the gear it would be a lot lower? For me I think less stall and less rear gear would help or lot more motor!

Well this will give me a good baseline to work with...just want to see how well a 343 with cam intake and headers will run with the stock gears.  I'd say the converter works pretty good, since I can roast the right rear tire until I let my foot off. Couldnt do that with the stock converter, unless I was doing a brake stand.  The stock converters suck.
After the baseline I have a 3.73 ring  and pinion, and will probably go to a 750 double pumper..debating on the Air Gap though...R4B is pretty good..but the Air Gap is advertised to cover a wider RPM range.

Granted it's a 360 but even with all that gear and converter it's not much different from my 4 door Amboat.
401, 354 gear, 3400 stall and a 1.88 60'.
