I hate that I didnt think ahead when I did my restoration. I have no radio and I have no need for an antenna. I want to remove it but dont have a clue what to use to plug the hole. Any ideas?

It depends on what car you have.
Some cars just never drilled the hole for the antenna when there wasn't a radio in the options, but some used a round plug to fill the hole. If the hole is already there, you need to measure it and find a metal block off plug to match, or match the hole to the plug you can find. I've seen a metal plug on a AMC antenna hole, but I don't know if it was factory installed or by a owner later. Most AMC's without a radio, what few I've seen, didn't have the hole there at all. Or weld it up and refinish the area.

I have a 71 Javelin... the only late Javelin where antenna was mounted on the cowl. Later years after 71 had them mounted on the fender.
So, if one has a 72 to 74 Javelin, they could obtain a 71 fender to havd no hole what so ever. Not familiar enough with all years and styles, but i don't think the 71 Javelin fender to on up Javelin is a one body only thing. There may be other bodies and years that share the oddity of being able to mix fenders. I think there was a thread last year on antenna hole plugs... not sure. Will search later and see what i come up with. |

That's a great idea. You probably could use a plastic end plug for finishing trim as well, if worried about paint being chipped when installed. |
