AMC Rambler registrations in Australia from 1957 to 1977 = 12664 cars and 1840 station wagons which isn't many in the grand scheme of things (ie they only made approx this many HK Monaro's all up which is one model only) so let's try to save as many aussie Ramblers as we can Smile

Yeah Hornets in 70,71 cost nearly as much as a GTHO Falcon (not sure how this later one at $6490 compares). I have an old Wheels mag, I will have to find, which has prices in it that I will put up on forum for comparison. Javelins cost nearly twice as much again at (don't quote me until I find mag) nearly $9000 compared to around $4000 for a GTHO

I wonder how accurate those production numbers are, seems to be a few items missing, the one and only Gremlin for a start and I thought there were a few 1970 Ambassador sedans as well as the coupes.
Interesting about the 71 Javelin, there was one in Perth a while back that was apparently brought in as an evaluation model, 401 and factory 4 speed, seems like it might be that car.

Anyway, here is the Gremiln at the Sydney Motor Show:

And it mentions 1 Marlin being brought in too? Where did that end up?

Sorry it did mention the Gremlin. One imported to go to various state motor shows. RHD, orange body with black stripes 232ci 3spd manual floorshift. There is about half a page devoted to each year so I just skipped mostly to the Australian registration records which is the only way they could ascertain approx how many were built. So they were accurate to an extent but numbers quoted could be cars built the year before or in the case of some ie the AMX's that took awhile to offload a year or 2 later. The AMX was given an introduction over Bathurst that year to advertise it's sale in OZ as it was faster then any of the cars at Bathurst that year. Would like to see that ad. The 71 Javelin (which was purple) was severly damaged in the care of AMI but was fixed and sold. The Marlin was red/black and I am sure it was on ebay in the last couple of years. There is plenty more great info. Would people like me to type out each year as a seperate post as I get time to save everyone trying to track the books down? Other things I think I missed 4 Ambassodor hardtop coupes in 1969 with 343ci etc etc
