brahlf I bet you found them! For a jeep with the AMC20 and 10x1.75" rear drums, I bet all the parts are the same, except for the drum and hub, because of the 5x5.5" bolt pattern.

I got the brake shoes today...
They pulled the ol' switcheroo!  I ordered the Raybestos 31PG professional grade and they sent the 31SG "service grade" and said "Unfortunately the 31PG was not available, but we did have the 31SG.  They are the same shoes, but a slight difference in the lining compostioin.  They are quality shoes, but there is a slight difference in price" and then they gave me back $5!  I'm calling B.S.

These look really crappy.

Seems like they had a hard time gluing on the lining:

anyway DON'T BUY THESE

Hope the parts I sent you worked out!!!  Sure looks like it....hey if the pic you have here is showing the brakes done, the adjuster spring (pink) loop end is not in the right hole.  It should be in the hole in the shoe above the adjuster....If the self adjuster arm doesn't have enough tension on it the brakes will not adjust properly later. So looking at your pic, the loop should be in the hole to the left and upward on the shoe to the left.

One last thing....do you have the primary and secondary shoes on right??  The pic shows the position of the linings the same on the both sides of the assembly, like you have two secondaries/two primaries on one side of the axle....I appologize for seeming to pic, just hate to see you have issues later.  If you have a AMC Technical Service Manual (TSM), it has some great pics in it....can scan a copy if you need...just PM me.

Good catch 401 as it does look that way from the picture.
Only other thing I do is put anti-seze on the adjuster and on the contact points where the shoes hit the backing plate. Some say white lube but with the heat it dries out gets hard and locks the adjuster, anti seze does not do that.

Oh that adjuster should be all the way in if you want to put the drum on and how I saw you did not have anit seze on it.

401MATCOUPE you are right as usual.  I updated the pic...
The shoe with the long lining goes towards the back of the car
The parking brake strut spring goes toward the front

I like that the drum brakes are kinda idiot proof in the way that it's hard to put on the drum and turn it unless pretty much everything is on right

Official parts list:
-2 drums Centric 122.67024
-Shoes (one set contains two pairs): Centric 11001510 from Rock Auto

Everything else can be found at the site below:
(Only difference in Jeep 10" drums is the wheel bolt pattern 5x5.5" and superficially different parking brake lever)
http://www.jeep4x4center.com/jeep-brake-parts/cj5-cj7-cj8-scrambler/index.htm
-2 master cylinders
-Hardware kit, one H7064
-Self adjusting kit, right and left Dorman HW2514 & HW2515
-parking brake lever: obsolete Bendix 308435-R & 308434-L but I'm pretty sure you could use the Jeep version - right and left
-parking brake strut - 2
-parking brake strut spring - 2 (for some reason this didn't come in the hold down kit or the self adjuster kit I bought)
-retaining plate - 2
-cylinder pins - 4

Also:
-grease
-anti-seize
-5/16 bolts 1/2" long (coarse thread) - 4 needed with lock washers

This master kit looks really convenient:

Just trying to help.....been there and made all those errors before.  I had to teach a local auto shop student how to do drum brakes...they barely touch on them in school now days!!!!   But he knows scanner/OBD-2 codes in his head....so little basics.

Hi
Do you have any 2.5 x 10 drum brake assemblies that will fit at the rear of a 70 AMX. I'm told Ambassador and Matadors fit?

Thanks  aamarler@hotmail.com
