Good information!
You can also get the AIR tubes and washers from any parts store that sells Dorman products like NAPA A/P. I don't think you can get the bolts there though, not sure.

The bolts are back in production. I got them from chrysler for $10.00 a peice that is including shipping rounded off.

This emisions setup (egr and air injection) cost me 1,000 dollars but I was missing everything including the brackets for the pump and  diverter valve bracket. The diverter valve , diverter valve bracket , air pump brackets and egr sensors are VERY difficult to find for a 1973 amc v8.

Keep in mind that these parts are NOT correct for emission controls on 1970 and prior AMC's.  Additionally, if you are a purist these emissions tubes are not correct...they will fit but originally the check valve is intergral to the tube. Great alternate for function though.

If you are attempting to restore removed smog accessories on the 70, yes, you are correct but to my knowledge at this writing there is nothing out there that is correct,  but carefully installed they have the appearance of being correct.  However the smog pump and it's mounting is still going to be a problem.  That  is totally different then later applications.

The early tubes are very different also...they have 4 interfaces with exhaust manifolds on each side and 71 up style have 3 on one side and 4 on the other??  What do you do with the fourth hole in manifold??  How does this "appear" correct??  Not to be stick in mud, just want to make sure 68-70 owners don't think this is "great" solution.  Just for comparison purposes, see the pic below, top one is NOS 68-70 Tube with integral check valve and straight tubes (left and right same part), middle one is NOS 71-up Tube with integral check valve (handed, 4 port), bottom one is NOS 71-up with screw on check valve (opposite handed from middle one, 3 port).  Sorry none for sale.  I do remember someone at previous National meet have repoped these tubes.....maybe someone else can comment on this.

Thanks for the good pictures and descriptions, Ross!

I believe those re-pop tubes are non-functional, if I recall. Not a big deal, but an actual working system really does help cut emissions.

The 3 vs. 4 on one side on the newer style was a clearance issue, I'm pretty sure...just trying to recall whether on certain cars the brake booster, or ps/air pump were in the way....

Ross, ever try fixing these tubes? I twisted mine trying to take them off the manifold with loose juice and heat. Wondering if anyone has been successful reconstructing a set by regrafting new small tibes to the main tube?

Kevin, as long as the main tube is solid, it should be easy to replace the small tubes. They are the same size as steel 5/16" fuel line, if I remember correctly. Drill out the large manifold end to 5/16 where the tube goes in, bend some fuel line to fit, & braze them in. Even if the main tube is rusty, it can be replaced too. I used the frame tube from a folding chair. Here's a pic of the tubes I made mostly from scratch. Not 100% detail perfect, but better than using the later tubes for my application.
