Nice!  how much HP will you need to be competitive?

I've got friends running dirt modifieds and I think they are in the 700hp range?!

I don't know the hp but I don't see having a problem keeping up with the competition...my secret will be in the gear ratio...i'll always run a bit less gear than the chevy guys..
I'm going to priority oil 2-5 mains and make a good copy of a Dan olsen oil pan...I will pressurize the stock pick-up passage in the block....install a fitting in the oem pick-up hole and run 4 lines to the last 4 main caps...main caps will be drilled with a small hole and the bearing to give the priority oiling....
That same set-up kept this shortblock alive and well when Marvin Fisher ran it in his stock car...I bought it when he got out of racing...I ran it in the Snot Rod for several years after...
I'll post some pics of the mod when I get to that point....
Rules state engine maker has to match body...so I will be running a Dodge viper front decals...along with the corporate Dodge engine!

The cat is outta the bag. It shows that if you think of it , It is more then likely been tried and done before.
That is one of the mods that I am doing, but not running an added line to the side of the block, I am going to internally do it in the block.( I seen were you talked about it on Mike's site) I also decided to go with the pro-gram main caps ,for fear of making the stock main caps weak and pron to breaking at the oil supply hole.
Run lines out of the back of the heads to the pan and redirect water flow, From back to front.

This is exciting build, I hope you do well and make them booty who.

Jim
Do you have more of them header flanges for sale. Need them for a turbo build.

just an added thought....... why go with the viper front why not have a good airbrush person do a Javelin Grille or a Javelin AMX Grille graphic on the front.   dont we all want to be recognized for the AMC?   why make the dodge boys proud.     REMEMBER    Lee I.    he said   "  if you can find a better car .....BUY IT  "     why do you think they got there hands on American Motors ?    the way I see it   THEY FOUND A BETTER CAR !
