What are you using for base timing?
1972 Javelin AMX T/A Red 360/4 speed

1968 AMX "The Pied Piper" "Cam Only" 390/727 1/8th mile bracket racer on E-85. 10.92@121.9 mph.

Well on this ehgine, how do you tighten the rockers? Whats the specs?

I do set it at 5% before tdc and then drop in the dist. Pointed at #1 cylinder...

Depends on what' there, need more info about what "kind" of rockers and studs it has...
Some heads were bridged non-adjustable, some studs & non-adjustable, may have non-stock even...
If ya can get it squared away it might be a pretty fun wet ride from the sound of this...

Well i removed the timing chain cover and and found all looked well, the timing chain marks on the top gear was a dot and on the bottom gear was a dash they lined up together in the middle...alittle weird but its a amc...so ill put it back together and maybe bad plug wires?????

There is an AMC club in the Treasure Valley.  Some fine gents in and around Nampa, Meridian and Boise (close to Star).  Maybe they may know some tricks to help out.  http://idahoamcrambler.com/
