    Posted: Jun/28/2020 at 7:49pm
I have installed an AMC 360 V8 in my 1979 CJ-5 Jeep. My issue is with the injectors. I installed a 4.3 V6 TBI in a 258 Inline 6 that through a rod so I bought a AMC 360 engine and put the 4.3 TBI in it, but the 4.3 injectors are for the in-line 6 so would anyone know if I can put V8 injectors into the 4.3 TBI? If so, do I need to do anything else? Thanks for the assistance.

I believe there's about 4 different injector sizes to choose from depending on application.
Who programmed the chip?

The chip I believe is still a in line 6 chip for the TBI so I guess I should switch that out as well. Howell TBI kit from 4 wheel Drive

Check with them. They need to set the PWM to match the injector flow rate.

So I went bank through my notes from 10 years ago and found that I did buy the V8 chip for the TBI but did not replace the 4.3 injectors. Now I am looking for a 5.7 to 5.9 injectors for the AMC 360. I’m thinking I’ll go with the 5.7 once I found a set.

Yes.. you will need the TBI 350 68lb/hr injectors for a 360. You could potentially use the 55lb/hr. one at higher pressure but I would not recommend that route as it could still run lean on the top end if you start pushing too much hp. The Chevy Caprice 9C1 68lb/hr injectors would be ideal for you. Check ebay... maybe Rock Auto.

So looking online last night and not wanting to wait two weeks to get OEM 350 injectors I decided to buy police special 350 injectors. Now the site recommends using an adjustable fuel regulator which judging but the TBI I have I’ll need to drill a hole for the adjustment screw or screwdriver to fit up into. Was thinking of getting one with a gauge but really not sure how that would work with getting the ones I’ve seen online to fit on the TBI since there really isn’t much room for the fuel regulator to be installed on the TBI.

You might find some of the products offered by CFM Technologies helpful... Yes... A FPR is going to be in your best interest. I would look for one that's vacuum referenced... They are well suited for fuel injection applications... But more expensive....

What kind of time and cost is involved with getting this up and running?
Summit brand EFI (produced by Fitech I heard) is down to $750 now, not including fuel pump, which you probably already have...

I’ll take a look at the link as I’m looking on Jegs right now but not really finding much.

As far as time and money set up goes the TBI I have was organically for my 258 inline 6, but when I replaced that engine I bought a AMC 360. I replaced the chip in the computer with a 304-390 set up chip, but did not replace the injectors. So now I just ordered these police special 350 injectors 12.5 to 15psi. My fuel pump is a Walbro GSL395 Fuel Pump that runs at 15psi and below.

I bought this fuel regulator plate to block off the current fuel regulator location and now need to buy an external fuel pump but most I am finding have threaded inlets that I guess will need to change out to braided ones all the way to the fuel pump (5ft).
