Hello All, Do the crankshafts interchange between the two engines, looking at the Eagle 4"stroker crank for Mopar360, if not, can it be "cut" to fit the AMC? John

Big Block Mopar is a possibility. I have a friend that welds and re-works them to fit in Big Block Buicks when a billet is not in the budget. However, it's still an expensive endeavor. Offset ground stock crank would be cheaper. Heck, for most of us the stock unmodified 401 crank is just fine.

AMC designed and built their own engines so they are as unique to the other big 3 engines, just as a small block chevy is unique to a small block ford. "some" accessories are similar such as starter relays, and V8 distributor points and caps, late power steering pumps carburator brands etc. But otherwise the AMC V8 is it's own design and a very good one pound for pound vs the other american V8's of the era.

Got to mention that the 360 in the Wagoneer is an AMC V8 even after Chrysler purchased Jeep.

So there are two 360 V8s in Chrysler's line up till 1991.

It's all the fault of Boris, he started the 360 stroked 4", becoming a 418 idea in my head, just looking for parts and learning what I can, called the "auto dismantler" today to see what he found engine/parts wise, but no call back yet, John
