Hi!
Is their anyone who knows if i can use a amc 20 rear axel from a jeep an put it on my amc hornet -74? or is it wrong ratio?

You should check the width of the Jeep axle in relations to the Hornet. Spring pearch to spring pearch and backing plate to backing plate. A jeep CJ is going to be too narrow and a J-10 is going to be too wide. A model 20 out of a 68-70 AMX or 68-70 Javelin is the same width as the model 20 from a V8 Gremlin, V8 Hornet or V8 Concord.

Like said above, the widths will be wrong. The gearing that came in jeeps were usually different than cars but would likely be better for performance and another problem is that the jeep axles had a different wheel bolt pattern than the cars did.
