I recently purchased a complete BW 3-sp OD setup out of a '56 250 cu" Rambler to change my BW auto that came with my '57 Rebel to a standard shift. The bell housing is aluminum (surprise!). Did Nash/AMC use aluminum bells throughout the fifties? Mine is broken in the starter mount area. Amazed how thin the aluminum is in that area! Looking to get it repaired.

I dont remember but I know the gen2 and 3 use a plate between the block, and bellhousing.  Does the Rambler V8 also have it? If so.  Use it as a template?
