I have been looking at some aftermarket quick ratio power steering boxes for my 1968 AMX, and I would like to know what others here have used.

What ratio would be better in your opinion? 12.7:1 or 14:1?

Dose anyone here have a Delphi 600/670 box in their car?

I have the AGR 12:1 quick ratio box and their race pump in my 70 AMX. AMX's are always fun to drive, but with a quick ratio steering box and their race pump (that has no lag time) they are way more fun to throw around corners. To get the full benefit of a quick ratio steering you will need to make a few suspension upgrades. Bigger sway bars at the very least!

I too have the AGR box and very happy.  The race pump is on my wish list.

I realize this is an old post, but here is an update for anyone interested.

I have since gotten a 14:1 Delphi style box from PSC. There were no unexpected issues with the install. Everything fit as expected.
The only changes required were adapters for the line fittings, and a rag joint from a 1979 Chevy C10.
The exhaust clearance issues the GM people have with these steering boxes is a non issue in an AMC body.
I am lucky to have an Eaton power steering pump that doesn’t leak, so I decided to use it anyways. I just flushed and refilled the pump with power steering fluid.

Due to transmission problems, I haven’t had much time testing it yet. So far I am happy all steering play is completely gone, even without rebuilding the front end yet.

I recently put a 12.7 ratio box from a Jeep Cherokee into my '72 Javelin. The ratio seems perfect to me.
