If you have a number of one that fits, try plugging it in on Donaldson filter cross reference.

Old message but same question. Where can I find the Oil Assembly that you showed me the photo of years ago. I can find the tubing and attachments, but not the main base unit.

I have one.  Bead blasted and painted here in CA.  $20 plus shipping to a US zip code.

Just a note, the same base fits the flathead and OHV six, just uses different mounting holes (all the bases have the same holes... except may pre 56 flatheads).

Do you know if adding one to a 59 is the same as adding one to another year or would it be different since the 59 is older

Your picture and the responses here have really helped ME!  I have the same issue!  62 Rambler American and I can't find the darned filter anywhere!  I don't even know how the thing is running without one - but I intend to get it back on there.  (I have a weird uneasiness about not being able to *see* the oil filter where it was originally intended)
Thanks again!

They came without a filter because nondergent oil was still common and the sludge was expected to settle out in the oil pan.  It was just and economy measure to hold down the price of a car and it actually continued an old practice from years gone by.   I have the correct filter base for $20 plus shipping if you need it. You would need to fabricate the oil feed and drain lines but that is not difficult.   Fram filters do not have they best reputation but a PB50 Fram filter is the correct one.  You can ask your auto parts store for a crossreference to another brand of filter.  I will note that even Ferrari uses the same inverted filter on their V-12 engines.    PM me if interested.  Joe
