Are you going with the stock AMC color for the engine?

copper color would be incorrect for the car anyway so the blue-green is would be more correct than the copper. Why not use the metallic version? The non metallic later blue green is a very dull color to the point that the fellow we are doing the 74 401 Javelin AMX for asked that we use the earlier metallic version rather than the later non metallic version of the engine color.

I might go metallic, I think there's some overspray on the trans to match, you can't just go down to the paint shop and get it here , they wouldn't have a clue what to make up if I said 'AMC v8 paint ' ,having said that I still don't mind the non metallic

After 20 years of of battling with various pliers, screwdrivers etc whilst putting brake springs on I took all of 1/2 a minute to make a tool out of an old screwdriver to hook the springs into place,so easy... also got a fathers day voucher the opther day so went to Supercheap autos'and bought a brake flaring kit, works really well and will be handy as there's a couple of brake lines to sort out on the AMX |

cheers for the kind words guys
, it is quite fun doing this esp as I didn't have to strip the car as I bought it as a basket case.can be a bit of a challenge sorting through all the bits to see whats missing etc ,luckily only little things so far that ,I've had a few parcels from Rockauto lately so getting those have been fun .put front cross member in tonight and found one captive nut was now free, bugga !,so I had to cut a hole in frame rail, find the nut ,weld in place , the weld up and re under seal,(still wet in the pic)just another wee job the you do that no one ever sees again LOL,anyway, now |
