The fuel inlet can go on either side and they sell a nice little accesory inlet line with a 90 degree angle that works great on AMCs. I put the 650 on a couple of my mild 390s and they run great with it. For your setup, the 800 is overkill.

I don't know the details of your setup other than being 30 over on the pistons, performer cam, original rear. We need more details of the specs of cam lift and other engine features, exhaust, trans, rear gears, and expected usage. Demon double pumpers are just a matter of swapping the fuel bowls around. (I would think that most double pumper carbs can be done this way. Most people only run double pumpers on manual trans but if you have an auto setup with some nice gears in the rear and have the kickdown and 4 barrels hit at the same time then you will be okay.) My Quick Fuel carb is a double pumper and is capped on the other side so it is just a matter of putting the cap on one side and the line on the other. I believe all Quick Fuel carbs whether vacuum or manual secondaries have either or side for the line as standard features. I like my 650 Q series Quick Fuel (racing carb-chokeless) better than the 600 and 650 DP Holley or the 650 and 750 DP or vacuum secondary Demon for my setup.

BTW...Demon Carbs were bought out as I hear and feature an Edelbrock/Carter design now instead of the traditional Holley/Demon/QuickFuel....

Edited by jeremy0711 - Apr/17/2012 at 10:17am

A drivers side inlet would still get heat but not as much. If I get double pumper its going to have the inlets on the linkage side if there is enough clearance. Thinking of getting an airgap too as a better match for the 4.10 gears over the factory cast iron piece.

The engine is .030 over and has and I have a performer cam and the original rear end. I am looking for a carburetor wia drivers' side fuel inlet. I have the original Motorcraft carb it needs rebuilt or thrown away depending on who you talk to. I like Holleys personally but I am looking for a carb that has a drivers side (LH) fuel inlet. I know they make Holley dual inlet bowls but what about Edelbrock? I just want to make this easy on myself.
