    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="http://theamcforum.com/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=1167">WeatherEye</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> ground wire<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> Jun/18/2013 at 10:09pm<br /><br />I have often noticed the thick ground wire that is attached from the motor mount bracket to the cross member but never gave it much thought until someone mentioned in another post that it could cause a drain in the battery or other problem in the electical system if like mine, was never taken off since the car was built and is gunked up and caked over with grease and rust.<div>I took mine off and will be cleaning the terminals and surfaces. Can someone explain more about this ground. </div>]]>

I'm out of ideas.<br><br>Also, with the car off the aftermarket voltmeter shows ~12V Should it do that? Or will it drain the battery.<br>Thanks!]]>

ALT light is on STRONG as soon as battery is connected.<br><br><br>Car OFF readings<br>with regulator wire disconnected<br>BATT 12.48<br>output 12.48<br>reg 12.48<br><br>with regulator wire connected<br>BATT 12.42<br>output 12.39<br>reg &nbsp; &nbsp;8.08<br><br><br>Car ON readings<br>regulator wire disconnected<br>BATT 12.4<br>output 12.4<br>regulator 12.4<br><br>with regulator wire connected<br>BATT 12.45<br>output 12.45<br>REG <b>14.2-8<br></b><br><br>Any where to start? Any other tests I should do?<br>I know next to nothing about the system but have done some digging on the forum and figured I'd do those tests with my multimeter.
