The shop that did my state inspection failed my 64 American for this saying I needed a headlight switch. I went through the wiring and a spare switch and was getting ready to have a breakdown when I came across this thread. <br><br>Going to bring a copy of this thread and a wiring diagram to the inspector and cram them down his throat, lol. <br><br>Thank you! <br>]]>

Most automakers put illuminated side lights on most of&nbsp;their '68 cars. Some (like AMC with the American) used reflectors, which were probably cheaper, and still met the requirement.</DIV><DIV>Starting with January 1, 1970 the requirement was for BOTH illuminated and reflective side lights. That's one reason that a '70 Javelin front side marker is very different from a '69 Javelin front side marker.</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV>]]>
