    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="http://theamcforum.com/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=3086">69 ambassador 390</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 39444<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> May/10/2012 at 10:12pm<br /><br />The jet size is not related directly to ther number on the older lets.&nbsp; I beleive it is just a part number.&nbsp; Same with the metering rods.&nbsp; I'm sure there is a chart somewhere with the part numbers and the spec.s for them.&nbsp; My TSM only shows two digit part numbers for the jets.&nbsp; If you have a number drill set, you can check the jet size that way.&nbsp; Use the shank of the drill bit as a go no go guage set.&nbsp; The proper size is the first one in decending order that will fit the jet hole.&nbsp; ]]>

    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="http://theamcforum.com/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=3086">69 ambassador 390</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 39444<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> May/09/2012 at 11:22pm<br /><br />Stock 69 290 primary jets are no.40 which is .098 drill size.&nbsp; They used a three stage metering rod with the small step at .066, Middle step at .073 and the large diameter top step or cruise at .0765.&nbsp; To figure the effective jet size at each step you would subtract the diameter of the rod step from the jet size.&nbsp; To get real accurate with your tuning you need to figure the area of the jet size and subtract the area of the rod step.&nbsp; Your kit should work fine but the new part numbers are different.&nbsp; If you don't have three stage rods then just use the big and little numbers.&nbsp; What are the numbers on the metering rods?&nbsp; Should be 16-something. <span style="font-size:10px"><br /><br />Edited by 69 ambassador 390 - May/09/2012 at 11:23pm</span>]]>
