There are 2 types, and it's done slightly differently for each type.<br>Polarizing gets residual magnetism set up in the poles.<br>]]>

I MAY have some original Ford and Delco info, but as things are going, might take a bit of time to dig up and scan, unfortunately.<br>Like Bud said - yes to the spin easily. Only resistance should be the brushes against the commutator, but it should spin if you give it a flick of the wrist and keep spinning for a couple seconds or so.<br>]]>
