Check the heater valve vacume line, or possible bad diaphram. For good measure, I would replace the valve as dry rot may come to play.

So, is it safe to presume you blew the heater core out and you are still not getting heat?

Clr flush then blew core out, both hoses get hot, too hot to hold very long.
It's something in the black box,when I mess with the air ,def,heat selector
it gets hot . And the cool to hot lever attaches to a lever on side o f box and I can c
it moving.

Yep, sounds like the box has to come out. While it isn't difficult, it is challenging. If you do not have a TSM, get one. It outlines the procedure, right down to loosening the dash on the passenger side.It will take a few hours to accomplish the task. But while the box is out, you will probably need to replace the sealing foam in there. You can make your own out of the correct thickness foam using double sided tape.

Going to leave it alone for now, lube the cables, check for vac leaks ,
Vacuum the box as best I can, and c if it gets any better, if not I'll
pull it before carpet and pkg tray install.
