Hi everyone,
I have found a back hatch window for my '77 Gremlin, but it has different mounting points than the original. I am aware that there is a "high" mount and "low" mount on the 77/78 Gremlins. What I need is the correct mounting brackets for my back window, or pictures of what they look like and the correct location. My Gremlin came with low mount strut support brackets and I need to move them to the high position. Can anyone help me out with pics of the correct setup, the correct brackets (or are they the same as the low mount) and the correct position and type of mounting hardware? thanks, xGremlinx

One suggestion: Get a a copy of the 77 and 78 sales brochures (either buy them or access them online) and you might at least get some idea about the positioning of the brackets.

Always the fact of mixed parts getting put on at the factory. I've heard that a car could be rolling down the line and one would be a 1976 and the next one would be a 1977. Parts used until ran out. Depending on what state originally bought in. Some were titled as of year bought. I bet someone out there has a 1979 Gremlin, because a 1978 sat on the lot until finally sold in 1979. Have heard from someone who worked at a dealer say that they had some 1976 Gremlins that alredy had the 1977 taillights. 1976 front clip, etc. With AMC, you never know. Kinda makes it hard to find the "right part" sometimes.
