Thanks. It fought me every step of the way. But it's in! On to the next project. Hopefully, I can stay motivated. |

Not at the moment, unfortunately. I'm buying a house now so funds will be low for awhile, but I still have big plans for the Mat one of these days!

Update, it's been awhile !!
I was having some cooling issues on the highway with my stock radiator & 4.10 gears. So I installed a Champion CC407 aluminum radiator recently. Be advised that you'll need to do some light mods to make this fit a Matador Coupe. It made a 40-50 degree difference in temp. I was getting up close to 240 degrees @3k rpms before with the old oe radiator & 180 deg thermostat. I just recently made a 70 mile round trip and with the new radiator & never got over 195 degrees even @ 3500 rpms for most of the trip. Here's some pics of the install. I had to have the mounting bracket moved up 1" & shim the radiator out some to get it under the hood. |

I know it's been forever since this thread has been updated..........
BUT in hunting info about my 1974 Matador coupe...I found it. Looking at the photos it looks like the fuel pick up is on the top of the tank?? My car started sucking air and I think I have tracked it back to that supply line.....but I do not want to drop the tank unless I have to. So to service the pick up/sender and rubber supply line I must drop the tank??? Thanks all!!! 36K original miles 2 owner car Edited by Dave Van - Jun/06/2020 at 6:18pm |

Yes, the fuel sender is on top of the tank, you have to drop the tank to service the rubber line......there is also a rubber line by the emergency brake cable bracket on the left rear frame rail, I have found that one bad also. Becareful not to damage the roll over valve or hose, the fitting is also on top of the tank and a dmaged line there can result in fuel smell with no spill.

Dane,
I have a leak coming from the top of the fuel tank on my 76 coupe. You wouldn't have a list of what you replaced when you redid yours would you? Thanks in advance, Mont
