I should have posted something before this....anyway last Aug 2015...the Gremlin started slowing down for no
apparent reason....turned out a TC bolt had backed out and took out the thrust bearing and damaged the crank.... pulled the engine in April got it back up and running again in early Sept. first time to track 9/9 for Friday Club race... first pass off the trailer 11.47 2nd pass 11.45...track elev 2700ft....a bid faster than before it broke....had added weight(180lbs) to stay in bracket 2(11.50 to 12.99) took out the weight and went to a Test & Tune on 9/11 car ran a best of 11.27 best mph 118....happy happy...went to a couple more races lost 1rd in both...plan to be out two more times this year.....will be adding the weight back on the car to stay slower that 11.50 for 2017....so I do not have to play with trans brake cars in Bracket 1 (10.00 to 11.49)..... |

I just LOVE to see an old man beat up on people with of all things, an antique AMC.

Awesome! I have a 74 Gremlin X I just picked up. I'm building a procharged 401 pretty much identical to Shootist's engine but mine will have methanol injection rather than E85. What size and offset wheels do you have? I like the stance, is the rear mini tubbed?
