What style or appearance did the 73 Javelin have as far as window crank/handle for the rear windows?
My car has front window cranks (not sure I trust they are correct or original) but the PO, again, left off rear window cranks so one cannot use the quarter windows. Would they be the same as fronts - and since I am unsure if my fronts are even right, what did those actually look like for 73? |

AMARK lists the same window crank for 68-73.

They "should" be the same for Javelin/AMX. The base chrome crank being the same but the black knob end has three different styles and I've never been able to pin this down to year or model...
All of them same outside diameter, 1 - early "purportedly" ones have the "ridge" close to the OD and domed. 2 - has the "ridge" to the OD and almost flat. 3 - has the "ridge" in approximately 3/16" from the OD and domed, and OD taper to the inboard. Took two years at Northern Ramblers to get one set of 4 the same, option #1 Don't know what is correct?

Yep, 71 to 74 used the plain slightly conical style knob. HELP! section has a very close one shared by Ford. I have two rears if needed, probably find them easy anyway. |

I have trouble using vendors to determine year range because, well, I see mistakes, some glaring, but won't go into that here. This is one of the FRONT handles from my 73 - I'll have to check my 70 and see if they are the same as that. Is this STYLE correct as far as the "knob"? I showed the part number on purpose- my parts book for 73 is sort of weird and missing some things but I guess I could still look and see what it says. In any case, I'll be looking for correct rear window handles........ |

Yep, them are correct, the rears I think are a wee shorter, and have a different part number.
I can pull my handles upload a picture of their overall condition. I can probably stuff them securely in a priority box $20.00 shipped. I'll throw in the flat nylon washers. I assume you have the Allen head screws? |

The PO left off the door handles - there's nothing there but the stub to put the handles on and screw them to - no screws, no nylon protective washers, nuttin.
When he left parts off - he did a really good job of it and removed all fasteners, screws and so on. If Eagle is the same screw I may have them....

OK, i have them both, but two are packed in another box kept left side seperate, oddly enough. Only one nylon washer... though the others rears are in better opaque white condition, probably with the other two cranks.
You may find a better nut... the seller messed up on removal, which I thought was some gunk as they were dirty. So just so you know the nut is a two piece item. A threaded insert barrel that goes over the adjuster, which is the same for most late 60s on up, and the nut that holds the barrel against the mounting plate. The rear is on top I have a real nice front crank pictured along side, just show the part number. Edited by 304-dude - Apr/13/2018 at 7:36pm |

Have a look at the "early", just over 1/8" to 5/32" raised dome and "turned" to remove the center (notice several cut center rings even into the pebbling).
The ones you have posted look like the #2 and have a better center finish and the dome was 1/16" to 3/32" at best when I was looking. Subtle but different. All the "early" had the nylon backing washers.
