I finally got my 71 Javelin up on a lift to see what it looks like underneath.

Biggest issue seems to be the passenger's side inner and outer rocker

not terrible, but a series of rot holes in one area,
they must be patched or replaced.

Options seem to be:

1)Use factory cut off from 69-74 Javelin

2)Use aftermarket inner and outer rockers (C2C, and maybe others).

So how good/bad are the aftermarket parts?

I've done full rocker and full cab corner replacements on Jeeps,
but they seemed simpler than the Javelin seems at first glance anyway.

Damage is limited to a 24-30" section of the rocker inside and out.

Thanks

Plan on fabbing some center rockers as well if both the inner and outers are bad. Nobody makes them and they are quite important to the structure of the car. Wooster Kevin used aftermarket on his and I think they fit pretty good. Maybe he'll chime in. He's got pictures too. Wink

The inner as outer panels from American Parts Depot worked very well for me. I will try to post a couple pics including pics of the inner panel that I made.

Thank you both for the replies

I would appreciate pictures if you have a chance to post them up,
I didn't realize there was also a center piece.

Glad to hear the repro's are good,
I've seen some for other vehicles that weren't even close.

the one thing that you have to remember is that the outer rocker panels only cover the door opening area not the front and rear caps.

Wow, great pics, Clap

Very nice reinforcement setup as well,
I wasn't really considering how flexible the the Javelin body is without the rocker in place (compared to the Comanche & Cherokee unit-body's anyway).

Seeing it opened up really helps with visualizing what's going on with mine.
Thank you for taking the time to post them up.

Very nice work!
