Have to pull tranny in my 71 Hornet and was looking at my options. Have the Borg Warner tranny that’s in it rebuilt or use a sr4 in my parts (77)car that has a 258. I’m pretty sure it’s straight forward, pilot bushing, clutch linkage and I’ll even use driveline from parts car. Hornet is a little 232 sst and four speed might make it a little more fun. Am I missing anything. Thanks

Hmmm. '71 has starter on the driver's side; 77 is passenger side. Will that work by using the '77 bell housing?
If you're talking of swapping engine and everything over, I see no problem with that.

the bellhousing and transmissions and starter as ramblinrev pointed out all changed in 72. the old stuff is mostly not compatible with the new 72-up stuff. SR4 etc will not bolt in. sorry.
