Well todays catch up post, Trunk lids from both cars were so, so. Decided to purchase another so in this photo I was laying out and drilling holes for spoiler. You can see original trunk on the table and how bad it was.

Here are a few more photos with the first pass of body work done on the rear half of the car

Buster, I am loving your project. I hope I can get to see your handiwork at GAD.

Just thought of another way to tempt you to head west. There is a very nice car show in Dublin near Columbus. Not that bad of a drive for you. On Saturday they feature an AMC "show within a show". The show draws around 1,200 or so cars of all makes. This event is in July.

Ken that would be fine with me, but I have a long road to hoe yet. I am playing catch up on the photos, it won't be ready this July maybe next year. Unfortunately my job puts me on the road for long stretches and keeps me from getting things done. As a matter of fact I was in Ohio last year on a project for 4 months. Still hope to make an event and meet you maybe this summer.

Well with the first pass on the back half done it was time to start moving forward. The front corners of the rockers both, had rotted away so more metal bending was in order. I also patched the drivers side rocker in the front and back keeping most of it original. Passengers side I replaced the entire outer rocker. There is also some repair work on the inner rockers at the front but I have decided to wait till the front fenders are sorted out. Where the bolt goes up thru the bottom of the fender I decided to weld a nut on the inside then repair the inside. I want to fit the fenders and hang doors and get all my gaps nice first.

Next on my hit list was the front cowl. You can't see it in the photos but it was badly pitted and the channel where the windshield rests was rotted out. I decided to replace both ends rather than replacing the entire piece. The middle was still in good shape and to replace the whole piece seemed like more work to me. Anyway it worked out nicely I think.
